Burton Green Academy Newsletter 8th December 2021
Dear Parents,
It has been a really busy week with the preparation for the productions in readiness for the shows. I have been ‘blown away’ by the amazing performances that we have seen for the film. We are still busy editing them all together and when complete the children will get a chance to watch in school with their friends next week. The link will be sent home for you all to enjoy; you are in for a real treat!
Next week is incredibly busy with Christmas lunch, parties and a visiting Panto. We would love the children to wear their Christmas jumpers on Wednesday for their Christmas lunch and Friday for the last day of term. Party day is Tuesday 14th December when the children can wear their party clothes.
Could I please thank you for continuing to test regularly in order to keep everybody safe. This makes such a difference and we are mindful that we would hate anybody to have to isolate over Christmas.
As always, I look forward to celebrating with you all on Friday with our celebration assembly when we will once again ‘Reach for the Stars’.
Maple Class:
This week in Maple we are learning all about the story of the first Christmas and what advent means. We are also exploring money in maths so please help us to recognise different coins at home too. We are really looking forward to recording the Christmas show soon and are working hard to practise our song and dance!
Cedar Class:
This week the children have really been enjoying their art work relating to the different flowers of the UK. They have enjoyed this terms topic of an island home and learning about the different countries of the UK.
Damson Class:
This week in Damson Class we have be working on a new Literacy topic of biographies and autobiographies. We have been looking at subtraction in Maths and finishing off our Christmas designs for a few surprise things!
Oak Class:
This week we have been completing assessments to assess progress over the term. We have also been rehearsing for our Christmas Production and Carol Service. Making calendars, working on a mosaic and writing our own war time songs means it has been a very creative week.
