Healthy Schools
We are very proud of our National Healthy School status. As part of this standard we encourage all children to eat healthily
Lunchtime
Our school meals are provided by Educaterers, and are cooked at Priors Field School in Kenilworth. An emphasis is placed on healthy food choices and their award winning menus and the quality of the ingredients they use are all planned to comply with the Government’s Nutrient and Food Based Standards . The school operates a red and green band system which enables all children to receive the meal of their choice each day.
From March 2016 parents will be able to use our School Money online system to pay for school meals.
Children may also bring in their own packed lunch from home. For lots of useful ideas and advice on packing a healthy lunchbox for your child, please have a look at the Public Health Agency leaflet, 'Are you packing a healthy lunch?'available to download here.
Breaktime
The school operates a healthy snack policy at breaktime. Children in Key Stage One are given a piece of fruit each day as part of our involvement in the National Fruit Scheme. All children in the school are entitled to buy milk to drink at breaktime. Please contact Cool Milk at school at PO Box 994 Lincoln, LN5GS or log on their website to for further information.
Water
Children are encouraged to drink water regularly through the day. There is a water machine available throughout the day and children should bring their own water bottles. This may be kept on their desk and filled up at breaktime and lunchtime.
Free School Meals
Children up to Year 2 are entitled to receive a ‘Universal Free School Meal’ each day.
Families may also be eligible for their children in all Key Stages to receive a free school meal as a result of their circumstances.
