It was fantastic seeing you and the children back in school on Tuesday – the children looked so smart in their new school Uniforms with their shiny shoes!
 
Everybody has returned to Burton Green this week with lots of motivation and enthusiasm. The children have been enjoying the time they have spent with old friends, whilst getting to know their new class mates and impressing their teachers. They have amazed us all with their keenness and excellent behaviour. Well done to all for an amazing start to the term!
 
Over the summer we have been busy installing a new computer system throughout the school. We now all have new email addresses, a new server, new laptops for the children and a lot of new things which hopefully will be much improved (when everything is working perfectly!)
 
It has been a great start to the new academic year and I look forward to this term where we will see the children flourish and develop.
 

Class Highlights of the Week:
Maple Class: 
We have all been very excited to share our summer holiday news and are looking forward to welcoming the new reception children into our class on Thursday and Friday. We have also been exploring the story of Elmer the Elephant and are thinking about how we are all special and unique.
Cedar Class: 
Well done to the children this week for settling in well on their return to school. We’ve enjoyed looking at the features of castles this week.
Damson Class: 
We have been writing recounts of our favourite memories from the summer in literacy.  In R.E this week, we have been thinking about what the creation story means for Christians and how it impacts their lives.
Oak Class: 
Everyone has settled into Oak Class very well. We are already busy with our World War II topic work and we are focused on persuasion in literacy.
