Burton Green Academy Newsletter 17th July 2019

The term draws to a conclusion and I would like to say a huge thank you to all the support you have shown me and the school this year.  It is a pleasure working with you all and I look forward to September when we will once again embark on a journey of excitement and learning.

It is always sad saying good bye to people and this year we need to say good bye and good luck to Mrs Tansell who is leaving her teaching assistant role, but will still be in school to see us in a voluntary capacity.

Many thanks for all the support you have offered us during your time as parents of children at the school.  I hope you have a wonderful summer and I wish all of our pupils who are leaving, good luck in their new schools.  We will always remember you and I hope you will always remember Burton Green Academy!

Class Highlights of the Week:
Maple Class:

This week we are creating lots of under the sea craft! We have made some paper plate creatures and are making jelly fish using bubble wrap. We had a great time at Sport's Day and were fantastic in our races! We hope you all have a lovely summer.
Cedar Class:

What a fantastic year! As I look back I think of how far each child in Cedar has come and equally how far I have come in my first year of teaching. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to share in your children's journey and I look forward to teaching some of them next year.
Damson Class:

Year 5 really enjoyed their trip to Kingswood last week and have been busy making photo collages filled with their favourite memories.  Also we have been playing lots of kwik cricket and solving problems in maths.
Oak Class:

We have had a very busy week since our return from Kingswood. Monitoring everyone in school running a mile, organising sports day and joining in the teddy bears picnic with our buddies. We also got our SATs results everyone did amazingly well.
