Burton Green Academy Newsletter 10th July 2019
What a busy week (if not slightly quieter in school) as our year 5 and 6 children are off enjoying their school journey in the Isle of Wight. I am sure parents in year 5 and 6 have enjoyed seeing all of the updates on Twitter and seeing the fantastic things the children have been up to!
I have had the opportunity to work in Damson class this week and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the children on a Theme Park project. The children have produced amazing posters, tricky costings for the building of their theme park and got a chance to try out their ideas in a simulation.
A huge thank you needs to go to Cala homes for their donation of our Reading Arbour and I need to say a huge thank you to Faye’s Dad’s company’ A & C Building Services - Craig and Andy constructed the arbour in such a quick time! This support is wonderful and really makes a difference in adding little extras to the school.
The last word has to go to Cedar’s amazing class assembly this week. It really did feel like we were in Hyde Park as we rocked along to a number of sure fire hits!
We don’t have a Celebration Assembly this week, but I hope you all have a fantastic rest of the week and I look forward to seeing you all next week at our Final Assembly of this School Year.
Class Highlights of the Week:
Maple Class:
We are exploring letters and postcards for the last two weeks in literacy and are counting in different ways in maths. We are also going to be building shelters during Wellie Wednesday.
Cedar Class:
Wow, what a performance! Thank you so much for coming and watching our performance. Thank you again for your support. I am very proud of all the children who took part.
Damson and Oak Class:
Our Year 4 children have enjoyed working with Mr Morris this week in school on their Theme Park projects. Whilst our Year 5 children from Damson, and Year 6 from Oak have been enjoying the sunshine and activities on their residential in the Isle of Wight!
